My design for the <a href="http://www.threadless.com/loves/innovation">Threadless Loves Innovation</a> challenge. I wanted to combine an old, vintage aesthetic with motifs from both the past and possible future. Innovation is a very broad term but to me brings to mind science, technology and great inventions that have shaped our world. The light bulb fruits are a visual metaphor to suggest the growth of new ideas that lead to innovation and the mechanical beetle and bird are a manifestations of this. simulated process on sage stone.

New hoodie design for The Black Dahlia Murder. (i think its coming on a tee too)Based on the movie 'The Abominable Dr Phibes' in which the Dr gets revenge on various people for not saving his 'bride' after an accident. The hoodie itself was one hell of an intense job, and i was allowed essentially free reign, not only is there the back print, but also the front panels and both arms as well as type across the hood, its basically the most intense piece of merch i've ever worked on, and the print came out spot on! Not been posting much recently as im holding back for the launch of my new website..hells yeah.

Memento Mori is a Latin phrase meaning "Remember you will die". I try to remind myself of this every morning as I start a new day. This design was inspired by old tattoo designs, Edgar Allan Poe, Victorian botanical illustrations and my still-life drawing classes when I attended art college. illustrated in pencil crayon, coloured in photoshop. I submitted a warmer and more intense color version of this design to the band, but they wanted designs with subdued tones, something a bit more “metal”. I didn’t have to do much work tweaking the colors the way they wanted, as this was how I actually colored the design in the beginning, and they liked it. Ahh... Shit and blood truly are the colors of metal.
